The Problem
The Coffee Oasis is a nonprofit organization that exists to change the world for homeless youth.
Studies show that every successful child has had a relationship with one committed, caring adult. Before the launch of Love Local, there were on average 75 Coffee Oasis youth in case management at any given time, yet only 9 of them had mentors.
Love Local is a campaign to empower churches and individuals to become mentors in the hope that each of our youth will be paired with a mentor.
The Process
I designed a logo and identity that established Love Local as our mentoring campaign, which fit the Coffee Oasis brand but distinguished itself from both youth programs and café promotions.
The Solution
In order to reach our audience of Christian adults, I created and implemented various web and print marketing materials, including:
A logo and identity that established Love Local as our mentoring campaign, which fit the Coffee Oasis brand but distinguished itself from both youth programs and café promotions
Packets that were handed to churches which clarified mentoring and ways to get their congregation involved
A webpage within the Coffee Oasis site via Wordpress with mentor stories and a call to action to become a mentor
6 different "profile cards" which briefly describe the interests and goals of a youth in case management
Periodic emails which introduced and updated the progress of Love Local
#LoveLocalKitsap Instagram campaign
Facebook content, including a Facebook Live interview and Facebook Event
Mailed thank you postcards
In just 3 months, 17 people became mentors!
